A Look Back at 2009!! {Port Orchard Washington Children's Photographer}

I don't know about the rest of you, but where has the year gone?!? It seems like it just flew by. It is sort of scary if I really think about it too much. I have been working on my kids photo albums these past few weeks, and I am shocked by how much they have changed in the past 365 days! Last night while tucking Braydon into bed he asked me how long before he would be a teenager :)!! I am hoping that those seven years go by a lot slower than the past six.

I love and hate this time of year....Christmas is over (waaa), New Years is approaching, and it is a time of reflection, and resolutions. I am embarrassed by the LONG list of things I personally need to work on, yet excited and hopeful that this will the year that I just might scratch a few of them off my list. I try and choose three resolutions to whole heartedly focus on.

1. Personal/Spiritual

2. Family Focused

3. Global

Kay so here they are! Maybe putting them on here will help me be a little more accountable in 2010.

1. There are SO many things personally I need to work on but this year my resolution to myself is to keep a gratitude journal in which I write down 5 things everyday that I am grateful for. I have done this before, and stopped, but I LOVE how it made me focus on the little miracles that happen to me each day, and that is where I want my focus to be this year.

2. See again, there is SO much to be improved upon as a wife and mother, but this year my goal is to spend one on one alone time with each of my boys once a month. Now I know this may not seem like such a BIG goal, but honestly I hardly ever get to be alone with the three men in my life. I am really looking forward to this one :)!

3. I tried and half way failed this resolution LAST year, and so I am going to try another go at it. My global goal this year is to ONLY use my recycled bags when I go shopping. I am successful with this about half of the time, and I know I can do better.

So there you have it. Wish me luck in 2010 :)!!

I love the picture of our hands too - thanks Shannon! I love all your photographs, they all tell great stories and capture special moments in the lives of your clients. We are all blessed to have had you do that for us! Great resolutions too - it's the small things in life that are important! I can't believe B will be a teenager in 7 years! Scary!

Great post! I loved the year in review. Good luck with your goals. I know you can do it!! (I've been trying to do better about my bags as well. I've started keeping a few in the van with me - just in case I make an unexpected stop.)
