Before & After {Port Orchard, WA Family Photographer}

Where do I even begin.  Lots has changed for me in the past few weeks.  The biggest change has been our families decision to move to Bainbridge Island, WA.  It has always been a dream of ours to move there someday, and that someday is March 18th!  If you aren't from the Seattle area Bainbridge is a small community of about 22,000 people, and is located directly across the sound from down town Seattle.  The significance of this being that my husbands commute will be more than cut in half.  Our boys will have the opportunity of attending one of the best schools that our state has to offer, and I will only be 35 minutes from my family, friends and clients.

I plan on traveling back to Port Orchard for visits and photo sessions often.  So I hope none of you will start searching for a new photographer anytime soon!  Seriously though, I will come back for you :)!

Now, for the reason you all come here. And by the way I checked my blog stats and I get on average 40 visitors per day, and I am so curious as to who you all are.  Its quite possible that it is just my Mom checking me out, but if you are a follower of my blog and we have never met I would love for you to introduce yourself!  Please, it would be really fun to get to know all of you.

Ok, so I have to tell you a little back story about this family.  Back in November I was contacted through my website, by a couple that wanted to purchase a session for a very special family who had helped them out in a time of need.  They wanted to do something special for them to show them how much they appreciated their kindness.  They decided on getting them a photography session.  So right away I knew these were very special people!

I will admit I was a bit nervous about photographing a family of seven and their dog Chloe.  Especially because it was quite cold and windy, but I couldn't have asked for better models.  They all did a fabulous job, and we caught some of my personal favorites to date.  And this session only took about 45 minutes by the time it was all said and done.  We work quick when it is cold :)!  So I hope you all enjoy these as much as I do.

I also have never done this before, but I thought it would be fun to post a SOOC shot (straight out of camera) next to a final edit, so you could see the difference.

I'm so excited for you Shannon. If I wasn't so attached to Port Orchard and our home here I think I'd be wanting to move to Bainbridge Island too. Especially to cut my husbands commute in half. That will be awesome for you guys.

Great pictures as always. I especially enjoyed the before and after editing pictures. (:

Our friends just sent us the link to this and then I see you posted about it on your blog too, wow! You got so many fun shots of their family and of each kid. I loved the group hug shots and the ones with the parents in the middle and the kids spaced in the different "windows" (in the gallery). I'm so excited for them that these pictures turned out so awesome and thank you for doing such a great job!
And congrats on moving to Bainbridge, cutting the commute by that much is no joke! I hope you'll be happy there:)

Friend, great job as always on the edit. And do I spy with my little eye the use of a reflector on the shot with the whole family in the doorway??? :)

Thank you for the honesty of posting SOOC shots with the edited ones. Like walking around sans makeup. So refreshing and vulnerable.

Excited for your move!! Blessings!!

hi Shannon I confess i stalk your blog :) We did meet one upon a time though at the Out of the Box Workshop. How exciting to be moving to Bainbridge Island I've secretly dreamed of moving there, but it would double my husbands commute time so it's not very practical dream to have
